Tutorial 002.
| This tutorial incorporates elements of a tutorial by Step One: Crop the image to 100x100 and sharpen. Duplicate and set the top Layer to screen. Merge both Layers. Step Two: Adjust > Automatic Saturation Enhancement > Normal/Strong/Skintones present. Step Three: Duplicate and set the top layer to screen. Step Four: Add a new Layer and colour fill with #222d66, set to Exclusion at 100% Opacity. Step Five: Add another new Layer and Colour fill with #7ac7de, set to Soft Light at 100% Opacity. Step Six: Copy Merge all Layers - do not merge - by Ctrl+Shift+C. Add as a new top Layer - (Ctrl+L) - and set to Burn, Opacity 36%. Step Seven: Duplicate your base Layer, set to Soft Light and place underneath the top Burn Layer. Merge all Layers. Step Eight: Adjust > Colour Balance > Colour Balance > Colour Levels 54:37:25/Midtones/Preserve Luminance. Step Nine: Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Brightness/Contrast Set Brightness to 10 and Contrast to 4. Step Ten: Adjust > Colour Balance > Colour Balance > Colour Levels 64:37:25/Midtones/Preserve Luminance. Step Eleven: Duplicate and Mirror the top Layer. I felt Jack looked better facing the left, I'm just weird like that. Step Twelve: Move the top Layer to the right and the bottom Layer to the left until there is no dark patch visible. Step Thirteen: Add a new Layer and select a rectangle to the left, going over Jack by at least 2px. Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius > 1. Step Fourteen: On the same Layer select another rectangle, no more than 1px wide, and using the Eraser Tool delete the selection. Step Fifteen: Still on the same Layer select another rectangle, again no more than 1px in width, and Using the Eraser Tool, set at 32% Opacity, delete the selection. Step Sixteen: Lastly, on a new Layer, add some small text. SlimSansSerif - Size 1 - Kerning 100 - Opacity 50%. And that's it, your done. |
Any problems, or if I haven't explained anything properly, just gimme a shout. You should be able to use the above on pretty much any cap or promo but you'll need to play around with the Opacity of the Soft Light/Burn Layers and Colour Balance/Brightness and Contrast.
